Press the back cover of the key using a small screwdriver. Pop up the back cover at the end of the fob. Remove the back cover, you should find the battery inside. Pull out the battery, be sure to remember the orientation. Replace the battery in the proper position. Put the cover back on the key fob.

They don't want the charger connected directly to the battery. There are labels indicating this. You are supposed to charge the battery using the charging posts under the hood.

If you are looking for an exact replacement 1- go to your local Audi dealer 2- ask them to purchase a battery 3- have them install it for you and code it. Last year I needed a new battery after 9 years on the original though I am the third owner.
